The Allston Brighton Neighborhood Opportunity Center is looking for a group of 5 volunteers to help deliver food pantry services from the NOC to 40 households to motels in Brighton currently used as shelters. Food delivered is both shelf stable and fresh produce (farmer’s market style setup) and is complemented by recipes with microwave-cook or no-cook options, taking into account the food being delivered on that day. Volunteers will help set up and organize groceries and supplies, help load the truck, check in clients registered for the distribution, help clients bring the bags back to their rooms, knock on doors of registered individuals who are late to the distribution, and help to share additional information about the program. Transportation is not provided, so we are looking for groups that have their own means of transport. We are also looking for volunteers that speak Spanish, Haitian Creole, and/or Arabic.
